--NOTICE--April 18th, 2009-- Please Register an account, it takes just a few minutes, to gain full access to the site. This site is still in proto-development. The JDR team is currently updating the site software and finalizing the layout plans. In the meantime do not expect things to work properly or the site to have much content. Contribution to the forums would be deeply valued. ------------- You are accessing the Journal of Dubious Research (JDR), an interactive online publication of mock peer reviewed scientific reporting. The basic premise is to provide a resource for writers, researchers, graduate students or just plain whackoos to express their creative writing side under the guise of a peer-reviewed format. Topics can be silly, or serious. This journal is to be tongue-in-cheek although serious, tasteful reporting is also acceptable if it fits the scope. In all cases, the user submitted writing is expected to be professional quality. This site is maintained by Anthony Ball and is currently undergoing heavy construction -site is anticipated to be active by July 2009. The beta module for article submission is now live. You will need to register with JDR and be approved by the JDR webmaster for the article submission links to be visible. As an unregistered user, you can view all the registered submissions by following the main menu link "Current Issue (beta). Once you submit an article, it must first be approved before it will be displayed on the site. IMPORTANTLY, for the article to upload properly you must select, for Section and Category, "User Submission Issue One" YOU MUST ALSO SAVE THE ARTICLE. | Here are some topics to provide an idea of the sort of material suitable for publication: - Genetic markers in Piracy
- Cat ownership and craziness, a statistical model
- Scientific explanation for fire breathing dragons
- Social factors contributing to MMORPGs ePeen
- Planet X, just an asteroid or planetoid Draconian warship
- Plant sex life, its not as boring as you think
Here are some concepts I'd like to include into the site: - Reviews, both by editors and users
- Social networking
